Mental Health in the Workplace Training of Trainers

IDRAAC has recently started implementing a new project: Mental Health in the Workplace training of Trainers.

The National Mental Health Programme at the Ministry of Public Health in collaboration with IDRAAC as implementing partner, with the support of the International Rescue Committee, World Bank and the technical support of the World Health Organization, is launching a “Training of Trainers” related to the National Mental Health in the Workplace initiative.

This project was originally initiated by the National Mental Health Programme and the World Health Organization in 2019.

The call for applicants is for Mental health champions who are professionals from the HR, Management and Employee Relations departments, currently working either in the public or the private sector from different organizations and businesses.

During the TOT, trainees will have a general knowledge on different Mental Health challenges such as depression, anxiety, substance use disorder etc. and will acquire the right tools and communication skills in order to face these challenges and support their co-workers and colleagues. Trainees will also be capable to identify different stressors, to start and end conversations with co-workers on mental health and invite them to seek help.

This training will create a better understanding among the trainees on innovative and evidence-based measures of improving employee wellness in the workplace and help create Mental Health Champions that will advocate for mental health in their organizations and will have the ability to train others, share their expertise, and make a lasting impact in their respective companies.
