Dalida Tribute Concerts

IDRAAC organized its fundraising concert for 2017 “Dalida Tribute Concerts” over three nights:

- November 10: in Tripoli at the Safadi Cultural Center at 8 PM. 
- November 11: in Beirut at the Villa Rose – Ecole Supérieure des Affaires at 8 PM.
- November 12: in Saida at the Khan Al Sacy at 8 PM.


After her huge success in IDRAAC’s fundraising event in 2012, and back by popular demand, Sandy Sims, Dalida’s most acclaimed French impersonator and her dancers will be giving three exceptional performances.

In 2012, more than 750 attendees attended the event in one night and the show featured more than 30 of Dalida’s best French and Arabic hits.

For 2017, which marks the 30th anniversary of Dalida’s tragic and untimely death, Sandy Sims and her dancers presented their new two-hour live show with 72 costumes inspired by Dalida’s outfits by Loris Azzaro, Pierre Balmain, Jean Dessès et Michel Fresnay and her best hits "Bambino" , “Salma Ya Salama”, "Pour en arriver là" among other timeless performances.
Being one of the most renowned music icons of her time, Dalida’s life joins success and fame while shedding the light on her battle with depression. This is why IDRAAC will be using the profits of this event for IDRAAC’s activities which target depression, one of the most common and treatable mental health conditions in Lebanon.

IDRAAC organized its yearly fundraising concert on Wednesday November 23, 2016.

Dr. John Fayyad (piano) and Elie Rizkallah (voice) with an ensemble of musicians revived the golden age of Arabic songs and captivated the audience by their performance.

Body and Mind Event

IDRAAC held a fundraising event entitled “Body and Mind” at Mike Sport´s The Gym- Zalka on September 4 2016. The aim of this event was to encourage people of all ages to endorse on physical activities and enhance their mental and physical health state.

The event started at 10:00 am for a full day of physical activities with professional trainers provided by The Gym. The program included Yoga and Pilates classes as well as many others (capoeira, lambaerobica, …), a healthy lunch by Zaatar w Zeit and interesting topics by Dr. Georges Karam- adult and geriatric psychiatrist and senior member of IDRAAC. This event also aimed at increasing awareness about mental health issues, hormonal imbalances causing anxiety- depression – OCD, etc… and at raising awareness on the fact that people are a whole entity and their physical and mental states are interconnected.

“Back to The Future”, took place on September 1, 2015 at WHITE Beirut. The event was themed around the 80s and was filled with live performances by musicians and singers who let the audience relive the most famous 80s hits.
More than 500 attendees enjoyed their time during the event and won several valuable prizes from the raffle draw.

La Belle Epoque of Arabic Song

This concert was done in partnership with AMAR International Charitable Foundation did a fundraising event entitled “La Belle Epoque of Arabic Song” featuring Elie Rizkallah (voice) and John Fayyad (piano) with an ensemble of musicians directed by Nuhad Akiki on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at the Pierre Aboukhater Amphitheater- Campus des Sciences Humaines- USJ.

The concert included songs and music by Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Najat, Fayrouz, Sabah and Zaki Nassif and was attended by around 500 persons of all ages.

All proceeds went towards supporting IDRAAC and AMAR’s work on mental health and drug awareness.

Live Lebanon

IDRAAC and UNDP Lebanon’s initiative "Live Lebanon” collaborated in an event which took place on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at the Casino du Liban - Salle des Ambassadeurs featuring Lebanese singer Ramy Ayache, who performed songs of his latest album during the evening.

The aim of this event was to raise funds for IDRAAC and UNDP’s initiative “Live Lebanon” in order to be able to sustain and implement their activities related to human development in Lebanon.

This partnership is based on the common outlook of both organizations in decreasing adversities related to human development in Lebanon and providing better opportunities and future for Lebanese underprivileged people in the areas of health and development.

The event was attended by around 500 persons and a raffle draw took place on valuable items.

Mr. Elie Rizkallah (voice) and Dr John Fayyad (piano) presented a musical evening “A Tribute to Abdel Halim Hafez”, on Wednesday April 30, 2014 at 8:30 PM at the Pierre Abou Khater Amphitheater - Campus des Sciences Humaines- USJ.

The concert included songs from Abdel Halim Hafez’s film and studio recordings from the 1950's, 60's and 70's.This event was attended by around 300 people and all the proceeds were used to fund mental health awareness activities by IDRAAC.

A Musical Evening from the Golden Age of Arabic and French Song

This concert was done in collaboration with Amar Foundation Lebanon and in coordination with the American University of Beirut (AUB) held a concert at AUB's Assembly Hall on Thursday September 19, 2013 at 8:30 pm to support their Drug Awareness Program.

Dr. John Fayyad, on the piano, accompanied Mr. Elie Rizkallah, Mr. Abboud Homsi, Mr. Eid Eid and Mrs. Leila Baalbaki while they performed songs from the golden era of Arabic and French songs including those by Mohammad Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim Hafez, Fairuz, Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Gilbert Becaud and others. The event was a huge success and more than 700 people were present during the evening.

Defy the Illusion

“Defy the Illusion” was held on July 30, 2013.

Around 600 attendees enjoyed an amazing show by 4 international singers and were astonished by Gino’s (the Lord of Magic) special performance.

An auction on a Vespa designed by the famous Lebanese artist Jean-Marc Nahhas took place during the evening and was led by Valerie Arcache Awad.

The Vespa was auctioned at 3 times its starting price and all the proceeds will go to fund child mental health initiatives. For pictures of the event, please click on the links below:

This event was done in collaboration with UrbanArt featuring a special evening of the play: “3aj2et Seyr”, by Josyane Boulos featuring herself, Karen Nohra and Tino Karam on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 8:30 PM at Theatre Monot.

The event was sold out and around 300 attendees enjoyed the show.
Proceeds of this event benefited IDRAAC’s activities dedicated to mental health awareness.

This fundraising concert was held on Wednesday February 27, 2013
at 8:30 PM at the Pierre Abou Khater Amphitheater - Campus des Sciences Humaines - USJ.

Dr. John Fayyad (on the Piano) and Mr. Elie Rizkallah (Voice) revived Abdel Wahab’s songs where around 400 attendees were mesmerized by their performance.

Proceeds of this concert benefited IDRAAC’s activities dedicated to mental health awareness.

This fundraising event was entitled "Dalida: Back to LIFE" and took place on September 16, 2012 at LIFE Beirut. The event was a huge success with over 750 attendees. The aim of this fundraising event was to increase awareness about depression, an issue that is so ever present in our society.

As this year marked the 25th anniversary of Dalida’s tragic death after her battle with depression, IDRAAC used this fundraising event to celebrate her life by bringing her "Back to LIFE."

After her sold out shows at Martinez, Majestic, Carlton, the Festivalde Cannes and now LIFE Beirut, Sandy Sims, the most acclaimed impersonator of Dalida, and her 4 dancers stormed the stage with an exceptional and accurate performance. The event celebrated life through Dalida’s timeless performances with the star’s multilingual songs, as well as her classical and American show-girl repertoire. The 2-hour show featured more than 30 of Dalida’s best French and Arabic hits. Attendees of all ages sang, cheered and danced, while enjoying the seated dinner and open bar.

Throughout the night, people were encouraged to make donations, and for every donation raffle tickets were handed out. A draw occurred on 17 valuable prizes after the show. The top 3 prizes were: Noor Fares jewelry, a watch by Paolo Bonjia and Dalida Memorabilia. All donations were used to fund activities targeted at decreasing the stigma of mental health disorders in Lebanon.

This fundraising event entitled “The Social Experiment” took place on July 18th 2011 at Sky Bar, Beirut. The event was a huge success and combined social media and entertainment for the first time in Lebanon. A huge 7 meters by 6 meters screen was floating in the air above Sky Bar, Beirut and a live Facebook feed was projected through a special software that was written specifically for the event Attendees were encouraged to “socialize” by posting on IDRAAC’s Facebook wall, facebook.com/IDRAAC. They were allowed to post comments, pictures, make donations and request songs from the live band. Close to 700 guests at Sky Bar along with people from all over the world (USA, Nigeria, Kuwait, Iraq, England, UAE…) took part of the “experiment”.

 

This innovative idea turned the event into a unique and fun gathering. Throughout the night, people were encouraged to make donations and for every donation, a raffle ticket was handed out. A draw occurred on 27 very valuable prizes that evening. The top 3 prizes were: a St Martin power boat, an all-inclusive trip for 2 to the Dead Sea and Noor Fares jewelry. All donations were used to fund activities targeted at decreasing the stigma about mental health disorders in Lebanon.

IDRAAC Fundraising Dinner Skybar 2010

This event was held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Sky Bar – Biel.

The purpose of the fundraising was to provide support to IDRAAC in carrying its activities. Hundreds of IDRAAC's friends attended the evening. A draw took place on a limited edition Vespa and a trip for 2 to Jordan.

This event was held on Monday, August 3, 2009, at Sky Bar – Biel.

The purpose of the fundraising was to provide support to IDRAAC to keep its mission and improve mental health in Lebanon and the Middle East.
Hundreds of IDRAAC's friends attended the evening which was hosted, among others by comedian Nemr Abou Nassar and star violinist Habib Alberto, whose performance was widely acclaimed by the public.

Dr. Elie Karam, President of IDRAAC sent a word of appreciation to the public by highlighting the importance of education and the work done by the Institute in Lebanon and the Arab World.

IDRAAC Fundraising Gala Dinner Dubai

A Fundraising Gala Dinner for IDRAAC was held in Dubai at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa in the presence of the UAE Minister of Health H.E. Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qattami on March 30th, 2006.
The Gala Dinner included different entertaining activities. These included a short film and a presentation about mental health and IDRAAC. The audience was treated to performances by the Emirates Children Symphony Orchestra, a classical Arabic Music Interlude by Elie Rizkallah and Nuhad Akiki and Arabic- Flamenco songs by Jose Fernandez and his band. Ms. Norma Naoum, Former Miss Lebanon, hosted the event.

The 2 main sponsors for this event (in alphabetical order) were: Tanagra and Al Jaber. Other sponsors included: Alpha Tours, Damas, Dubai Bank, Homeland agri, Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa, Optimedia, Patchi, Piaff Boutique, Printwell Printing Press, Publicis Graphics and Zahret el Khalij.

The Gala Dinner was preceded by a scientific presentation titled: "Mental Health in the Arab World: Knowledge and Needs".

Concert for IDRAAC

Dr. John Fayyad, a senior member of IDRAAC, and his wife Rindala Baalbaki Fayyad, have performed in a concert to benefit IDRAAC and USJ sans Frontières on May 30 and 31, 2003. The concert was titled "Profil d'une Vie": Un Récital Intime" and told the story of a woman's life from birth till old age through French songs. The concert took place at the USJ Pierre Abou Khater Auditorium. Proceeds from the concert were used to support IDRAAC's ongoing research activities.

Avant-première of The Passion of The Christ

On the 10th of March 2004, IDRAAC hosted an avant-première of the Mel Gibson film, The Passion of The Christ. Proceeds from the avant-première served to help IDRAAC carry on various research projects and community interventions.

Close to 700 guests at Sky Bar along with people from all over the world (USA, Nigeria, Kuwait, Iraq, England, UAE…) took part of the “experiment”.

 

This innovative idea turned the event into a unique and fun gathering. Throughout the night, people were encouraged to make donations and for every donation, a raffle ticket was handed out. A draw occurred on 27 very valuable prizes that evening. The top 3 prizes were: a St Martin power boat, an all-inclusive trip for 2 to the Dead Sea and Noor Fares jewelry. All donations were used to fund activities targeted at decreasing the stigma about mental health disorders in Lebanon.

This event was held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at Sky Bar – Biel.

The purpose of the fundraising was to provide support to IDRAAC in carrying its activities. Hundreds of IDRAAC's friends attended the evening. A draw took place on a limited edition Vespa and a trip for 2 to Jordan.

This event was held on Monday, August 3, 2009, at Sky Bar – Biel.

The purpose of the fundraising was to provide support to IDRAAC to keep its mission and improve mental health in Lebanon and the Middle East.
Hundreds of IDRAAC's friends attended the evening which was hosted, among others by comedian Nemr Abou Nassar and star violinist Habib Alberto, whose performance was widely acclaimed by the public.

Dr. Elie Karam, President of IDRAAC sent a word of appreciation to the public by highlighting the importance of education and the work done by the Institute in Lebanon and the Arab World.

A Fundraising Gala Dinner for IDRAAC was held in Dubai at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa in the presence of the UAE Minister of Health H.E. Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qattami on March 30th, 2006.
The Gala Dinner included different entertaining activities. These included a short film and a presentation about mental health and IDRAAC. The audience was treated to performances by the Emirates Children Symphony Orchestra, a classical Arabic Music Interlude by Elie Rizkallah and Nuhad Akiki and Arabic- Flamenco songs by Jose Fernandez and his band. Ms. Norma Naoum, Former Miss Lebanon, hosted the event.

The 2 main sponsors for this event (in alphabetical order) were: Tanagra and Al Jaber. Other sponsors included: Alpha Tours, Damas, Dubai Bank, Homeland agri, Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa, Optimedia, Patchi, Piaff Boutique, Printwell Printing Press, Publicis Graphics and Zahret el Khalij.

The Gala Dinner was preceded by a scientific presentation titled: "Mental Health in the Arab World: Knowledge and Needs".

Dr. John Fayyad, a senior member of IDRAAC, and his wife Rindala Baalbaki Fayyad, have performed in a concert to benefit IDRAAC and USJ sans Frontières on May 30 and 31, 2003. The concert was titled "Profil d'une Vie": Un Récital Intime" and told the story of a woman's life from birth till old age through French songs. The concert took place at the USJ Pierre Abou Khater Auditorium. Proceeds from the concert were used to support IDRAAC's ongoing research activities.

On the 10th of March 2004, IDRAAC hosted an avant-première of the Mel Gibson film, The Passion of The Christ. Proceeds from the avant-première served to help IDRAAC carry on various research projects and community interventions.
