Health & Protection Intervention for Syrian Refugees in Jordan & Lebanon

IDRAAC has recently started working on a new project: “Community-based health and protection intervention for the most at-risk Syrian refugees and host community members, in particular older people and people with disabilities, in Jordan and Lebanon“.

This project is supported by HelpAge International and the German Federal Foreign Office.

The project will provide humanitarian assistance to address critical gaps in healthcare, mental health services and protection (specifically protection from gender-based violence (GBV) services for the most vulnerable groups, in particular people with disabilities and older people, while contributing to building crisis resilience among Syrian refugees and host communities living in urban areas of Jordan (Amman, Irbid and Zarqa governorates) and Lebanon (Beirut and Mount Lebanon).

IDRAAC, through its team of specialists will be implementing different activities under the framework of this project:

  • Mental health and social assessments through outreach and clinical teams
  • Mental health consultations at the clinic
  • Home visits by psychologists, social workers and outreach workers
  • 24/7 Mental Health Hotline
  • Awareness Sessions
  • Support group sessions
  • Case management & referral to needed services
