IDRAAC has been involved in the EU funded TEC-MED project,
"Development of a Transcultural Ethical-social Care Model for the
Dependent Population in the Mediterranean basin", an initiative which
focuses on improving the care of elderly people in the Mediterranean Region
(Spain, Tunisia, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon and Greece) through developing, piloting
and validating a model of social care that is inclusive and provides a real
response to the needs of this vulnerable population.
On February 1, 2023, Dr. Georges Karam and Ms. Lea Korh from
our team participated in the 4th and Final TEC-MED Model Stakeholders Meeting
in Rome, Unicamillus University entitled “Preliminary findings from the Pilot
Phase & the Social Capitalization".
This event was an opportunity to share the main achievements
of an innovative project aiming at improving the care of older persons in
Lebanon where key stakeholders from all countries were invited to discuss and
reflect on the project’s deliverables and next steps.
This was also an opportunity to present our work with 4,700
older persons and caregivers in Lebanon while supervising 5 other countries and
working to reach a total of 28,200 persons in Italy, Spain, Greece, Egypt and
Tunisia.
Proud to be part of this beautiful TEC-MED Model team and
looking forward to the next steps!
