National Mental Health Day

As a way to reach out to large numbers of people, IDRAAC launched the National Mental Health Day in 2003 under the auspices of the first lady of Lebanon, Mrs Andrée Emile Lahoud. The National Mental Health Day is a yearly activity of the World Federation of Mental Health where, one day per year is designated to disseminate in-depth information about a mental health topic. This is done through conferences and workshops, as well as media activities using radio, television and newspapers to make sure the message reaches the entire population. First Lady Lahoud signed a proclamation stressing the importance of Mental Health in children and adolescence, inviting all the Lebanese to become aware of mental health disorder in this age groups and the impact they have.
