On Tuesday June 13, IDRAAC welcomed representatives from the French Embassy in Lebanon and representatives from the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region as part of the project that we are currently working on "Addressing the Needs of the Total Assyrian Community in Lebanon".

The project targets all age groups of the Assyrian community: the children, the adults and the elderly through providing mental health and psycho-social support through capacity building of Assyrian community workers, and providing medical and mental health support to the elderly.

The project includes several activities such as:

· Training of volunteers from the Assyrian Church to screen for mental health problems and a series of awareness lectures on mental health for the total Assyrian community

· Parenting training program for volunteers from the Assyrian Church and parenting skills sessions to Assyrian mothers from the refugees and the hosting communities

· Medical screening for the elderly from the refugees and the hosting communities to assess physical and mental health

· Capacity-building training program for teachers to deliver resilience and positive coping strategies and classroom-based sessions to build resilience and positive coping among students

The different activities undertaken in the project were presented by the IDRAAC team and testimonials were shared by the volunteers from the Assyrian Church, the Assyrian mothers who took the parenting training program, the school teachers who delivered the resilience program and beneficiaries from the medical and mental health screenings.
