Discusses the relationship among religious phenomena, illness, treatment, and medical practice for Algerian Moslems. Positive and negative medical, social, and psychological aspects of Moslem religious rites (daily prayers, Ramadan, and the pilgrimage to Mecca) are considered. (English abstract)
