Neonatal behavior of prenatally stressed Lebanese infants.

The behavior of 68 Lebanese infants whose mothers lived in a country with 10 years of civil war, was compared to a sample of American infants. The results indicate that the Lebanese infants were more capable of shutting out disturbing stimuli from the environment. They were also less excitable and better able to regulate their state changes
