Studied the validity of the factorial structure of a Jordanian version of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) in discriminating between age groups. Human subjects: 110 Jordanian school age children and adolescents (in 11 age groups between 6.5 yrs and 16.5 yrs) (preliminary sample); 220 Jordanian school age children and adolescents (age-matched) (final sample). The item structure of the 1974 version of the WISC was administered to the preliminary sample and revised. Data from the administration of the modified WISC to the final sample were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) techniques to determine the scale's validity. Reliability coefficients were computed for 10 subscales by the split-half method and for 2 subscales by the test-retest method. Item correlations with subscales and with each of the verbal, performance, and total scales were also computed.
