Attitudes of juveniles in correctional institutions toward non-personal visitors: The case of Saudi juveniles.

Investigated the effects of nonpersonal visitors (mainly university students studying sociology and psychology) upon the residents of juvenile correctional institutions in Saudi Arabi95 Saudi males (average age 15.85 yrs), enrolled in Riyadh's Juvenile Correctional Institution, filled in a sentence completion questionnaire. Analysis of data indicated that most of the Ss wanted the visits to continue. A small percentage of Ss expressed negative attitudes toward the visitors. The study suggests that the visits provided the inmates with new role models.
