Discusses the hypothesis of the existence of universal psychopathology and its implication for the identification of similar psychoses in all cultures. Emphasis is on the identification of psychoses in the Kabylian society. The importance of determining and understanding the sociocultural context of psychosis and psychopathology is also discussed.
