Studied the relationship between fear of death and religiosity using a sample of 84 Saudi Arabian males, all Muslim, who temporarily resided in the US for less than 2 yrs. Fear of death and dying was measured using a factor analytic multidimensional fear of death and dying scale reported by D. D. Long (1985). Measures of religiosity included S. Putney and R. Middleton's (1961) religious orthodoxy scale. Results indicate that current church (mosque) attendance has a significant negative correlation with fear of premature death, and self-perceived religiosity has a significant correlation with fear for significant others.
