Presents findings from a questionnaire administered to 24 Arab psychology and education professionals that assessed the status, rationale, and development of counseling in Arab countries. The majority of Ss reported that counseling services were offered in their countries but that counselor education programs did not exist. Development (economic, social, and personal) was viewed as the primary rationale for counseling.
