This article examines the representations of man as male and father by 25 Tunisian adolescent schoolgirls (aged 15 to 20) suffering from various somatic complaints. Will pictures 4 and 6GF of TAT suggest representations different from the female maternal image, which was the focus of a previous work? The man on picture 4 is the object of a powerful desire, but he is feared and is sometimes seen as a persecutor; the man on plate 6 is often full of malevolent intentions. A comparison with the accounts of a control group has revealed a psychic suffering in the form of a deep feeling of relational unease with the male paternal figure, but probably pertaining to the broader context of conflict with parental images, with the maternal figure appearing before to be particularly negative.
