Comparison of scores on Templer's Death Anxiety Scale for samples of students in
Spain and five Arab countries indicated that, in general, the students in Arab
countries scored higher than the Spanish students. Similar results were obtained
for other measures of death anxiety. Such differences may be associated with
social factors including religiosity, the cultural meaning of death, and quality
of life.
