This study aimed at providing an updated review of memory impairment in children, in order to answer the following questions: (1) Are there any differences between Arabic and Egyptian studies and foreign studies regarding study aims and objectives? (2) Are there any differences between Egyptian and foreign studies re garding theories? and (3) are these studies conducted according to principles of scientific methods in psychology? Our critical review reveals the following results: (1) there was rarity in Arabic and Egyptian studies, in comparison with foreign studies, which aimed at surveying and memory impairment intensity, its diagnosis, and its therapy in children; (2) contrary to foreign studies, early memory theories were employed in Arabic and Egyptian studies, both in test formation and interpreting results thereof; (3) there were no Egyptian treatment studies; and (4) there were no Arabic, Egyptian, nor foreign preventive, rehabilitative, or follow-up studies in the domain of memory impairment in children.
