Describes the issues confronted by a group going into an international situation and trying to enact Track II diplomacy. The author discusses his visit to Kuwait and interactions he had with Kuwaitis who had experienced a traumatic experience due to the Iraqi invasion. Describes the role of transference and its significance in these kind of situations. The unconscious becomes an enormous reservoir for the trauma, which then becomes expressed violently in innumerable ways. A discussion addressing followup therapy and societal changes for the people of Kuwait is included.
