Smoking and its relationship to depression and anxiety among Saudi university students

Determined the prevalence of depression and anxiety among Saudi university students and these symptoms relationship to smoking. 79 university students completed the WHO questionnaire on smoking and a hospital anxiety and depression scale. Definite symptoms of anxiety were established in 28.5% of the Ss. This frequency was significantly higher among smokers than nonsmokers. Definite symptoms of depression were established in 10.5% of the Ss.
