Determined the prevalence of depression and anxiety among Saudi university students and these symptoms relationship to smoking. 79 university students completed the WHO questionnaire on smoking and a hospital anxiety and depression scale. Definite symptoms of anxiety were established in 28.5% of the Ss. This frequency was significantly higher among smokers than nonsmokers.
