Prevalence of child disability in Saudi Arabia.

Conducted a large scale prevalence study for child disability of those under 15 yrs of age in a Saudi population with accurate demographic records. 1,280 children aged 6-15 yrs, and 1,152 children under 5 yrs were screened. 31 children had a severe impairment, and 322 children had a minor impairment. This accounted for 3.76 per 1000 total population with a major impairment and 4.28 per 1000 total with a minor impairment.
