This paper presents an analysis of a problem-based curriculum in terms of objectives relating to different basic and clinical disciplines. The curriculum is in two phases: Phase I focuses on the basic sciences, while Phase II focuses on psychiatry and other clinical disciplines. However, unlike traditional discipline-based curricula, the students are introduced to psychiatry from the commencement of training, and the academics from the Department of Psychiatry contributed to the development of the social skills workshop, which is held early in Phase I.
