Presents an overview of the Asian literature dealing with all forms of J. Raven's Progressive Matrices--Advanced, Standard, and Coloured. These nonverbal, culture-fair tests have been satisfactorily used in countries where most Western tests are inappropriate. Studies are reviewed on the use of the Progressive Matrices in the Middle East; Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, and Singapore; the Philippines; and the Indian subcontinent. Studies support their continued use as valid tests of educative ability.
