Investigated the effectiveness and application of the Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Scale on Saudi samples and attempted to reveal the structure of this disorder by gender, comparing the results cross-culturally. The Arabic Scale of Obsessive and Compulsive Disorders was administered to 923 Saudi secondary school and university students. Split-half reliabilities of the scale were between .70 and .73. The scale had a consistent factorial structure among Saudi samples. There were no statistically significant differences between males and females nor between the 2 age groups of students. Saudi samples attained lower obsessive-compulsive mean scores in comparison with samples from Egypt, Qatar, and Lebanon. Saudi ways of socialization were considered to be producing lesser degrees of obsessive-compulsive disorders.
