Anxiety of the elderly: A psycho-socio-cultural approach. About 73 cases

We have to present in this job, the results of retrospect study about backs of news consultants to be more then 60 years old, which are followed for 'nevrotic-anxious disorders', in Sfax hospital center of psychiatry between 1990 and 1993. It's about 73 cases, (43% of news consultants having same ages; 1,5% of news consultants, every age overcome). The string is marked by the missing of the economic ressources and a social-cover steady: the most of people have been in the care of their children. The nosographic sharing out showed 40% of somatoform disorders (particularly painful), 18% anxio-depression disorders and 27% no specify anxious disorders. Stress factors are:revealed among 71% of which specific: inheritance conflicts, husband's and children's-in-law conflicts. There's not suicidal beahaviours or idea; it is connected at socio-cultural factors: slovenliness and particularly good socio-familiy integration which is assured by patriarch traditional culture, where the old people have a privileged seat and there is not a sociofamily retreat. This pedestal lengered, is relatively threated by cultural mutation and progressive evolution toward nuclear family.
