Reviewed the mental hospital care received by 6 adult male refugees from Iran, Iraq, Laos, and SomaliDiagnoses included schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, situational maladjustment, and depressive disorder. Need for hospitalization and overall case management appeared appropriate, but coercive measures specific to refugee status were used in 1 case, and consideration of culture and premigration might have led to a better understanding of 2 depressive cases.
