Investigated the relationship between body image and 4 psychological variables (self-concept, anorexia nervosa, depression, and locus of control) among 119 Qatarien female university students. Ss completed the Female Body Image Scale (FIBIS), which consists of 20 short statements. Ss answer each item by selecting 1 of 5 alternatives. The FIBIS showed acceptable reliability and factorial validity. Differences between the 3 samples (high, medium, and low body image) were found in the psychological variables. Positive relationships were found between higher body image, physical self, and anorexia nervosa, but negative correlations were found between lower body image, physical, and social self.
