The recent Persion Gulf crisis provides a useful context for examining the impact of traumatic stress / although brief in duration as a national crisis, the ongoing military mobilization caused extreme hardship for children, marriages, and families of those who participated in some way / focus on the kinds of information [about war-related stress] that would assist mental health practitioners in working more effectively with Gulf War veterans and their families.
