Translated and adpated version A of the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts (BTBC-A) to the Jordanian culture. 573 Ss (aged 4-9 yrs) served as the sample for this study to generate reliability, validity, and item analysis indices. After translating the BTBC-A into Arabic, its construct and concurrent validity were examined. The Jordanian version of the BTBC-A (JBTBC-A) was able to discriminate between the performance of mentally retarded and normal children. The split half reliability ranged from .94 to .97.
