45 Egyptian male college professors employed at San'a University, Yemen, were divided into 2 groups according to their level of experience teaching veiled female students. Ss were asked to identify the emotions expressed in pictures of human eyes. They then identified the emotions expressed by full facial photographs. Ss with previous experience teaching veiled students were better able to identify the emotional expressions of human eyes than their inexperienced counterparts. The emotional expressions of full facial photographs were more accurately identified than those of the pictures of human eyes. The social, practical, and educational implications of the facial veil are discussed.
