Traumatismes de Guerres. Prévention Psychologique à Large Echelle en Milieu Scolaire.
Abstract
The war in Lebanon, and in particular the ones that took place in 1996 in South Lebanon, have traumatized the population, creating difficulties in people’s adaptation process. Psychiatric Disorders such as major depression, PTSD, SAD, and GAD were observed in children and adolescents following war trauma. In this context, we aimed at examining the prevalence of these disorders among children and adolescents prospectively and determining the efficacy of a large scale therapeutic treatment; the latter was delivered by teachers who were trained And supervised by clinical psychologist through the various stages of the intervention. This article outlines the usefulness of this approach as well as its methodological limitations. Stress et Trauma, 2(3), 169-177.
