Abstract
Specific diagnosis is a must in medicine and in psychiatry is no exception.

Descriptive symptoms related criteria are the basis for psychiatric research and clinical practices since laboratory parameters are not yet specific or in extensive Use.

The authors have adapted a research instrument to Arab speaking subjects which allows properly trained professionals and lay individuals alike to diagnose most common psychiatric disorders in epidemiological studies.
