I immigrated to the UK in 2018. At first, it was very nice to be in a new environment, but then I gradually started to feel homesick. I got very lonely and was feeling extremely sad. I realized the hardships of being more independent and it was hard to make friends and find things in common with people around me. Nonetheless, having my mom around made a lot of things easier. I always had someone to turn to and I’m really grateful for her continuous presence and for her help in always making everything bearable.
