As part of the TECMED  project that IDRAAC is working on in Lebanon, (Development of a Transcultural social-ethical-care model for Dependent Population in Mediterranean Basin), each country partner worked on assessing the capacity building needs in relation to the implementation of the TECMED model in their respective country.

In view of the current COVID situation in Lebanon, a series of phone and online interviews were completed with stakeholders to address the needs of different target groups of the project (January & February 2021) in an effort to address them during the implementation phase.

Interviewees were from different profiles and backgrounds and gave important feedback on the needs of older persons, their caregivers (professional and non-professional) as well as public administrators, businesses and education. Expressed needs were diverse and covered different aspects such as digital capacity, healthcare, mental health and psychosocial support, advocacy and elderly rights, communication and networking, among others.

A capacity building plan will be generated based on the collected information.
